R.I.P. Def Jam Vice-President Shakir Stewart

In some incredibly sad news, the Def Jam family and the music community as a whole suffered a sudden loss this weekend. Def Jam Vice President Shakir Stewart was found deceased Saturday night. He died of an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head.

Shakir replaced Jay-Z as Vice President of Def Jam in June. He is responsible for signing talent such as Young Jeezy and Rick Ross. He was an Oakland, CA native and a graduate of ATLANTA'S own MOREHOUSE COLLEGE. While working for Hitco Music Publishing he signed Beyonce and while working for LaFace Records he signed Ciara. His eye for talent and love for music was obvious to everyone who knew him.

It is clear that this talented, young brother will be truly missed. My sincere condolences and prayers go out to his family, his Def Jam family, and his friends and colleagues.

If I Was A Boy...I'd Beat Beyonce's Ass

So at this point, I'm over Beyonce. Suuuuuper over Beyonce. It seems to me, that every single time she comes out with an album, it's the same crap. She has her MAN HATER song that causes every damn black woman to break up with her man (or at least write him a very heartfelt letter with at least 3 Beyonce quotes embedded), then she has her GIRL POWER anthem that causes every black woman (and gay man) to have a girls night out and bumrush the dancefloor to show off the Beyonce choreography they have worked so hard on, and lastly she has her I LOVE YOU SO MUCH, BOO ballad that causes every black woman to go running back to her man trying to work it out because Beyonce is in love and it sounds soooo great. I'm sick of it. And this time out, she has TRULY pissed me off...she has the nerve to have a song BASHING men for not putting a RING on someone's finger and all this nonsense. UHHH BEYONCE, REALITY CHECK BOO...he put a ring on YOUR finger...a BIG ASS RING ((worth $5 Mil)). So how can I possibly relate to Beyonce? Honestly, I'm insulted that she attempts to relate to the plight of the single black woman. Like, for real!!!! Whatchu talkin bout Beyonce?!?!?
